Privacy & Data Information
Last updated: 2 September 2026
MetaStat is a product analytics system. It helps software providers understand how their products are used, measure technical performance, and improve product quality and user experience through aggregated statistics.
Data processed by MetaStat
MetaStat is designed to receive anonymous product-usage information, such as application events, event times, application version and build information, and randomly generated technical installation or event identifiers. Event names and parameters may be configured by the provider of the software that uses MetaStat.
The analytics data is anonymous in the sense that MetaStat does not require or intentionally collect a person's name, email address, postal address, telephone number, account credentials, or other information that directly identifies that person. Software providers using MetaStat must not include personal data or sensitive information in event names or event parameters.
Why the data is used
The data is used exclusively within Vision Lab to analyse Vision Lab's own software products, identify usage trends and technical issues, evaluate product features, and support product development and improvement. MetaStat does not use analytics data for individual profiling or targeted advertising.
No disclosure to third parties
Analytics data collected through MetaStat is not sold, shared, disclosed, or otherwise transferred to third parties. Access is limited to authorised Vision Lab personnel who need the data to analyse and improve Vision Lab's software products.
Storage location
MetaStat data is stored on servers located in the Netherlands, European Union. Appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect stored data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or loss.
Roles and responsibilities
The provider of the software in which MetaStat is integrated determines which product events are collected and is responsible for giving its users any notices and choices required by applicable law. MetaStat processes the submitted analytics data to provide the analytics service and does not attempt to identify individual users from that data.
Retention and requests
Analytics data is retained only for as long as needed to provide the service, support product improvement, meet applicable legal obligations, and maintain system security. Because the analytics dataset is not connected to a person's name or contact details, MetaStat may be unable to locate data relating to a particular person without a relevant technical identifier and details from the software provider.
Questions about data collected by a particular software product should first be directed to that product's provider. For questions about MetaStat or this notice, email mail.visionlab@gmail.com.
